NICET-Engineered · FDNY-Compliant
Fire alarm work in NYC is not a DIY or a general-contractor job. FDNY plan examiners reject drawings that don't meet NYC Building Code, NFPA 72, and the 2014 Amended FDNY Rules. A failed inspection can delay a Certificate of Occupancy by months.
Our fire alarm division is NICET-certified and holds an S-95 Certificate of Fitness. We design, draw, submit, and install fire alarm systems for new construction, gut renovation, and occupancy-change projects — and we walk the inspection with you.
We also handle the work most property owners forget about: annual inspections, Category 1 sensitivity testing, smoke detector replacements, monitoring account maintenance, and keeping your compliance paperwork current with FDNY and the Department of Buildings.
We pull your CO, occupancy classification, and construction type. We identify whether you need a local fire alarm, central station, auxiliary, or proprietary system.
NICET-stamped drawings including riser diagram, battery calc, voltage drop, and device layout. Submitted to FDNY Technology Management.
Notifier, Siemens, or EST panels with code-compliant device placement. MC cable or EMT per the job spec. Witnessed rough-in before drywall.
We schedule the inspection, walk the FDNY inspector through every device, and resolve punch-list items in real time. Most first inspections pass.
Annual inspections, semi-annual battery checks, 5-year sensitivity tests, monitoring account management, and FDNY violation resolution.

Approved drawings on-site, all devices installed per the drawing, functional test of every device with the inspector present, proof of NICET certification on submittal, proper signage, battery and voltage drop calculations, and an active 24/7 central-station monitoring account. We pre-walk every system before scheduling the FDNY inspector.
NYC requires annual inspections of all commercial fire alarm systems per NFPA 72 and the NYC Fire Code. Batteries, smoke sensitivity (every 5 years), and the full panel function test are part of the annual scope. We track the schedule and file the reports.
Most commercial occupancies in NYC require central station monitoring — specifically Class B or Class A signaling with a UL-listed station reporting to FDNY. We provide the monitoring account and the annual monitoring certificate on renewal.
NICET is the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies. NYC requires NICET-certified technicians on fire alarm design and installation for most commercial work. Without NICET stamped drawings, FDNY will not accept your submittal.
